The Perfect Day is an episode of Ramona.
Synopsis[]
The girls find something in the fridge, which, according to Mr. Quimby, is a surprise. They then notice Mrs. Quimby making lot of burgers. Mrs. Quimby reveals that it is for secret guests arriving that night, which makes the girls wish they had secrets, too. Aunt Bea comes over to visit and Ramona tells her that everyone has secrets today, making Beezus reveal that Mrs. Quimby's secret is Aunt Bea. She then reveals her own "mystery guest": Hobart.
That night, everyone sets the table and Aunt Bea has Ramona arrange some flowers. Mrs. Quimby asks Aunt Bea why she and Hobart are in "silly moods", but she cryptically replies, "Oh, a little bit of this and a little bit of that." The girls complain about Hobart singing the "Ramona" song to Ramona and calling Beezus "young lady", but Mr. Quimby says that he's just nervous because the Quimbys are near-strangers to him.
Later, Beezus and Hobart make small talk about Beezus's book and possible baby names. He also reveals that he has an annoying nickname, "Hobo", and they discuss the origins of Beezus's nickname. Later, everyone has dinner, during which Mr. Quimby reveals that he has been promoted to store manager. Then, Aunt Bea and Hobart reveal that he is moving to Alaska instead of Saudi Arabia for work-related reasons, and that he is going to marry Aunt Bea and become the girls' uncle as well as Howie's.
Aunt Bea wants to get married at the city hall since it is quick, but Mrs. Quimby feels that's not a "real" wedding; i.e. a church wedding and the Quimbys decide to arrange it for them. Hobart decides to make Willa Jean the flower girl and Howie the ringbearer, while Aunt Bea makes the Quimby sisters bridesmaids. Ramona does not want Aunt Bea to move to Alaska, but Bea points out that she will still write, phone, and visit.
Later, Aunt Bea and Hobart discuss the wedding preparations and the girls get their new bridesmaid clothes. Grandpa comes over, in a limo he rented. However, Hobart then calls and reveals that he forgot to buy flowers. Luckily, Ramona has the idea of picking their own flowers. The Quimbys and Hobart change into their nice clothes, and Grandpa takes them to the church and has the guests bring flowers.
Howie is worried the ring will fall off the cushion as Mrs. Kemp instructs him on how to lift it. The girls complain about their shoes hurting, then Beezus gets an idea and they walk off together. Later, the wedding happens, but after the vows, Hobart drops his ring. Everyone searches (except Beezus, who is staying still to be polite) and Ramona finds the ring and returns it to Hobart, who puts the ring on Aunt Bea's father, and the two officially become husband and wife. Ramona then catches the bouquet and it is revealed that the girls tied their shoes to the "just married" car. Ramona is so happy that she wishes someone else will get married next week. Grandpa then takes everyone out for pizza. Ramona decides that a limousine and pizza make the day perfect.
